Happy Earth Day!

This week our PK classes celebrated Earth Day by cleaning up the Robina Baker School grounds.  Thank you PK - the fields look fabulous!!

We Had Some "Super" Little Visitors!

Thank you to Mrs. Dupont's grade one class for showing us your class pets this week.  We were delighted to learn about your super worms as well as get the opportunity to hold them - if we dared!

Emergency Evacuation

This week our school had two emergency evacuation practices.  The first one took place on Tuesday morning, and the second one on Wednesday afternoon.  We were so proud of how well our students listened to directions, as well as how patient and quiet they were while they stood outside and waited for the all clear to head back inside.

Spring Fun

It has been exciting watching our grass grow - pretty soon we will need a miniature lawn mower!

We used shave cream, water, and liquid water colors to make rain clouds in a jar on Wednesday.  This science experiment was a fun way to explore familiar materials in a new way.

Thank you to Mrs. Bowers and Miss Kayla for organizing stations for our classes to rotate through on Thursday.  The students had fun visiting different monster themed stations that focused on developing our oh so important speech, language, fine, and gross motor skills!

Celebration of the Arts

How lucky were we to experience so many different forms of art here at Robina Baker School last week?  Each morning we enjoyed a different artistic experience.  On Monday we listened to a performance from the talented Kym Simon.  On Tuesday we enjoyed a drum performance from Trevor Kuntz.

Our afternoon class was also lucky enough to get to play Mr. Kuntz's drums.

We watched a beautiful performance from the rhythmic gymnastics group on Wednesday, as well as a dance from two Robina Baker students.

The John Maland drama club was here Thursday to sing some songs for us.

Thursday we also enjoyed having a visit from Michael who did improv stories with both our morning and afternoon classes.

It was wonderful to see so many families here Thursday evening for the Robina Baker Art Gala.  We are so proud of the beautiful art our PK students have created.

Humbolt Strong

Many of our students showed their support for the Humbolt Broncos by wearing jerseys to school on Thursday.

Down on the Farm!

We continued with our farm theme this week.  We also strengthened our fine motor skills while making a corn on the cob craft.

We did a fun science experiment involving baking soda, vinegar, and popcorn kernels.

We had a special visit on Thursday to wrap up our farm unit from Millie the Cow.  How exciting!

We had fun building and re-enacting the story of the Three Little Pigs this week.

Floats and Smoothies

We enjoyed Rootbeer, Cream Soda, and Orange pop floats this week to celebrate our success with the Spell-a-Thon.  We also enjoyed a turn with the smoothie cart on Thursday.
