It's a Zoo in Here!

Last week it was a zoo in prekindergarten!  We had fun Thursday going on a lion hunt.  It was all screams and giggles when we found the lions!

"We're going on a lion hunt... We're going to catch a big one!"

Games Day!

We enjoyed playing different games on Wednesday.  Games are such a fun way to develop sharing, turn taking, speech, language, and fine motor skills.

Safari Hunt

We kicked off our zoo week by going on a safari hunt around the school.  Our little zoo keepers did an amazing job finding all of the missing animals.

London Bridge is falling down!
It is always the simple songs that are so much fun.

Zoo Field Trip

Our zoo field trip is coming up this Thursday, May 17th.  Please ensure you have signed the permission slip through your PowerSchool account.

Since PK students are too young to ride the bus, each family is responsible for transporting their child to and from the field trip.  We will meet at the entrance gate to the zoo.

Parents are welcome to join us for the tour, however they will be required to pay their own entrance fee. Parents are also welcome to drop off their children with us at the main entrance of the zoo, and then pick them up again when the field trip is completed.

Our guided tour only allows for a specific amount of participants, therefore if siblings are coming to the Zoo, they will be unable to join the tour.  Parents must tour the Zoo on their own if they bring their other children.

The itineraries are as follows:

AM class
  • Parents will be responsible for transporting their own children to and from the zoo
  • 9:15 am - meet PreK staff at the zoo main entrance
  • 9:30 - 11:00 am - guided tour “Animals Around the World”
  • 11:00 - 11:20 am - picnic snack
  • 11:30 am - meet PreK families at the zoo main entrance for pick up
  • Students are taken home by their parents

PM class
  • Parents will be responsible for transporting their own children to and from the zoo

  • 2:00 - 2:20 pm - picnic snack
  • 2:30 pm - meet PreK families at the zoo main entrance for pick up

The costs of this field trip will be covered by the PK program.

Your child will need to bring a snack and water bottle in a backpack that they can carry with them during the field trip.

Please ensure you dress your child for the weather including sunscreen, bug spray, and a hat, or raincoat if necessary.
