Prehistoric Times!

Last week we continued with our dinosaur unit.

The students were excited that their dinosaur teeth were finally dry and ready to take home!

We used salt, water, and hammers to hatch baby dinosaur eggs.

On Wednesday we were paleontologists.  We went hunting for dinosaurs throughout the school.

Just how big was a T-Rex?  We compared our feet to the size of a dinosaur foot print.

Our morning class discovered that we can fit 22 of our shoes into one T-Rex foot print!
The afternoon class was able to fit 20 shoes into their T-Rex foot print.

I Can Throw!

In the gym we strengthened our throwing skills by playing one of our favorite games, not in my backyard.  This game not only develops essential gross motor skills, but also focuses on language development because the students are encouraged to say "not in my backyard" as they throw the balls over the "fence" into their neighbors yard.

Mr. Paul

We were happy to have Mr. Paul for a visit this past Monday.  Mr. Paul is a musical occupational therapist who visits our classroom from time to time.  During this visit we enjoyed deep breathing with Mr. Paul's musical bowl.  We also did yoga and sang different songs while Mr. Paul played his mandolin.  At the end of his visit each student had a chance to try out Mr. Paul's musical bowl before he left.
